After the cleanup, what remains?

Swimmers reported that the pond feels fresher than it has for years. Water clarity improved over the weekend, as compared to the previous weekend which was a bit cloudy. As lily pads grow back and pull out more phosphorus and nitrogen, we’ll see if that pattern continues with measurements over the coming weekend.

Unfortunately, clearing lilypads on Thursday revealed thick algal mats to the extreme left as you enter from Fresh Pond road — best to stay clear. In future years we will push cleanup deeper into this zone.
