Our Pond is in danger. While we wait for the permanent solution to remediate the crisis, The Fresh Pond Neighbors Association, with the approval of the Town, is seeking contributions to help fund an annual professional clean-up that will remove harmful algae blooms, and the decaying plants that feed these blooms. Our goal is to keep the pond safe and beautiful for Shelter Islanders and visitors to enjoy and to preserve a healthy habitat for birds, fish and turtles.

Until our long-term solutions address the underlying problem, we will budget $10,000 annually for this clean up.
